The Passing of Michael McLeran

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we share the passing of our colleague and friend, Michael McLeran.

Michael was a rising star at Sacks Tierney, an exceptional attorney in our construction litigation group, and a vibrant presence in the legal community. A graduate of Drake University Law School with honors, Michael brought not only a brilliant legal mind but also an unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, and service. Michael was quickly distinguishing himself with his determination and was a valuable member of the Sacks Tierney family.  

Michael was more than an attorney—he was a confidant and a friend. As a proud member of Sacks Tierney, he found joy in the balance between meaningful legal work and precious time with his beloved family. His passion for the law was apparent, and his hope was to grow alongside his colleagues for the next 20–30 years.

Beyond practicing law, Michael’s love for the Fiesta Bowl Committee and its mission was palpable. He embodied the values of teamwork, community, and sportsmanship that the organization represents. A proud Yellow Jacket, his energy, laughter, and kindness left a mark on everyone he met, whether in the courtroom, at a committee meeting, or across a dinner table.

Michael’s impact will be felt for years to come. His kindness, dedication, and warmth will never be forgotten.             

We extend our deepest sympathies to his wife, Alex, and their two daughters, and we hold his family close in our hearts during this incredibly difficult time.
