Evan F. Hiller

A member of the firm's commercial litigation practice group, Evan Hiller is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Arizona and has a background in intellectual property and technology litigation.

His litigation and trial experience includes:

  • Serving as lead counsel for a healthcare network company, securing dismissal of lawsuits in California and New Jersey

  • Serving as first-chair trial counsel for a state licensing board defending regulations against constitutional claims in successful two-day bench trial

  • Serving as second-chair trial counsel for a Native American tribe in extensive water rights proceedings, including more than ninety trial days (to date)

  • Serving as second-chair trial counsel for a defrauded horse purchaser, securing a judgment of more than $1 million in damages and fees

  • Serving as second-chair trial counsel for a County official, securing a defense verdict against various civil claims

  • Representing the State in defense of a challenged annexation statute in trial and appellate court, including oral argument in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals

  • Representing a semiconductor manufacturer as lead discovery attorney in a Section 337 Investigation before the International Trade Commission, including primary responsibility for tracking and admission of all evidence during a seven-day hearing

  • Representing the State as lead discovery attorney in complex, multi-party litigation featuring more than thirty witnesses and hundreds of thousands of documents

  • Representing a software company in defeating a motion for preliminary injunction in a patent infringement lawsuit, leading to a favorable settlement

  • Participating in the successful mediation of multimillion-dollar claims against a state agency
